Many women are looking for ways to lose weight. While some of them succeed to lose a few pounds, they cannot keep the weight off.

This is the normal consequence if you follow any of the ‘miracle diets’ around. Weight loss is not hard to achieve if you do it correctly. This is especially true for women who are more difficult to lose weight than men. The body of women is different from men, and needs special attention when it comes to weight loss.

The first thing you have to do when you start your weight loss efforts is to make sure that you eat smaller meals more often. Do not stay on the three main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Try to eat at least 6 smaller meals with 2 hours intervals between them. In these meals try to include lean protein, whole grains and of course fruits and vegetables. Do not be too obsessed about calories.

Of course to lose weight you have to consume less calories than you burn but this will be done gradually. Do not dramatically reduce your calorie intake because these will decrease your metabolism. To lose weight you need to increase your metabolism. This can be achieved by eating frequently. Gradually once you get into this habit you can start minimizing the calories consumed by replacing full fat foods with low fat, low calorie foods.

It is important to note that breakfast should be your biggest meal of the day. Do not in any way sacrifice breakfast; on the contrary you should eat a big and healthy breakfast. Studies have shown that women who want to lose weight can achieve it better when they eat a good breakfast.
